The final stage of the project took place at Tatev Monastery, where the acoustic experience began even before reaching the site itself. While approaching the monastery inside the wings of Tatev, changing weather conditions caused an unexpected thirty-minute pause inside the cabin. This time was used to make an ambisonic recording, capturing music set against the gentle, continuous sound of rainfall—an unplanned but meaningful layer of environmental acoustics. Once inside Tatev Monastery, the recordings concluded with the performance of traditional liturgical chants by a local priest. The expansive, reverberant interior amplified the temporal and spiritual qualities of the chants, allowing long decay times and spatial diffusion to become integral components of the sound. Together, these recordings reflect Tatev not only as a destination, but as a gradual acoustic journey shaped by movement, environment, and sacred architecture.
